Heygates is a family business that has been farming in Northamptonshire since 1562 and expanded into milling in the 19th century when Arthur Robert Heygate Senior, the grandfather of current joint managing directors Paul Heygate and Bob Heygate, took over the family mill in Bugbrooke.
Today, the feed mill at Bugbrooke produces 110,000 tonnes of vegetarian feed annually for cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, horses, rabbits, and camelids, using no animal proteins. A team of qualified nutritionists provides ration formulation and technical advice to customers.
Heygates is the largest independent miller in the UK with a long history in animal feeds and farming. Their goal is to produce high-quality feeds that offer excellent value for money. They use fresh cereal products from their own flour mills, combined with proteins, vitamins, and minerals, to create some of the best feeds on the market for horses, goats, rabbits, camelids, and all types of farm livestock.
